2012 Molson Canal Concert Series

***Blogger has reach the 200 comment "unofficial limit" in the first post. Please continue the conversation here.***

Front Stage - Summer '10

I have had some contact about where The Tracker is this year. I am quite preoccupied but here is the 4th installment. We will fill in the line up of the 2012 Molson Canal Concert Series in Lockport NY. This is the 5th year of the series in Lockport and there are to be 9 shows again this summer as the city works it way to a new 3 year contract.

New this year is Artpark charging for their Tuesday Series since it had grown to crowded. Will Lockport see more concert goers because of this?

Past years' threads are here:
2011 Series
2010 Series
2009 Series

Artists will be added as they are leaked/found up to the official series announcement date. The date is usually early June but was announced mid-May last year after the whole line-up was eventually discovered. If anyone finds any information feel free to drop them in the comments below. I have been a little busy to dig deep. Recent updates will be shown in red.

All shows are held outdoors at the Ulrich City Center downtown on Main St rain or shine and are free. Visiting Lockport and looking for other things to do? Look here: "Lockport on the Erie Canal"

  1. Seems blogger once again hit the wall and froze showing comments in the original 2012 concert series post.

I've created this second post and removed the information away from the top of the first.

If your comment got lost you can most likely find it in the "comments" RSS feed in the tab on the top banner. Copy and paste it here.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Post here if you want you comment to show.

  2. Personally could care less about 54-40, but the other 6 acts are amazing. With 2 more spots to fill, could be an outstanding lineup with the right bands. Great summer to look forward to.

    ReplyDelete
  3. 54-40 is the most talented band in this line up. Enjoy Thorogood, and keep all the trash like yourself away from the amazing show the boys from Canada will entertain Lockport with.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I can't believe that the promoter couldn't score some big name acts like Metalica, Bruce Springsteen,or even Van Halen . Keep the Canadian bands on the other side of the river!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Paper today officially annouced the change to Labatt's as the beer sponsor which is nice since Labatt's USA is headquartered in DT Buffalo.

Also the full lineup will be announced next Monday at 1pm.

    ReplyDelete
  6. People are worried about bad crowds this year with some of these bands. I am worried abouot all the conservative republicans getting very agitated when they come to see tea party and it's not what they expect! They will riot!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. "54-40 is the most talented band in this line up" I think that says it all. What a very sad lineup. It could only get worse if they added Hootie and the Blowfish

    ReplyDelete
  8. people shut up and dont go to the concert if you want to bitch about it!!!. its free!!!!! next year lets see you get a better lineup. not gonna happen!!!!! Gov't mule is epic as shit. Tea Party was awesome last year. George Thorogood tears it up. Kenny Wayne is an awesome guitarist. 54-40, just heard them for the first time today and are actually damn good! Grab a labatt and shut the hell up about the damn lineup!!! what do you want justin beiber????

    ReplyDelete
  9. Government Mule puts out great albums year after year. Great classic rock sound. What a way to open the season!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Maybe they will get Justin Beiber seeing he is from Canada. I will be skipping Lockport this year and going to ARTPARK. I can see better bands than these at a bar.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The "shup up it's free" crowd are probably the same dregs that take up all the picnic tables at the "free" car shows on Monday nights during the Summer also.

    ReplyDelete
  12. LOL ^ probably

    ReplyDelete
  13. Lockport - a city of complainers....very little doers...you will be the same people to bitch when these concerts leave Lockport

    ReplyDelete
  14. This has turned into Thursday at the Square. They started off with some good bands. Then the biggest act they had was Morris Day. If they continue to have bands like this, I personally wouldn't care if they stopped altogether. Artpark still has great bands. Out of 9 different bands, you should be able to please everyone. We will see what the last 2 open spots are to redeem themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  15. This is one of the BEST lineups to ever hit Lockport, and 4 you dumbasses 54/40 is one of Canadas most followed bands around,ArtParks lineup SUCKS, plus you have to worry about Police road blocks and harassment GREAT JOB LKPT.Way to go Blue, Labatts that is ,

    a

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm all for police roadblocks and harassment. Maybee the NYSP should set up North, South, East, and West of the city on Friday nights. Good money grab for NY on DWI offences.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Before the Govt' Mule concert, one can just walk a few blocks over to Washburn St. and buy their pot. How convenient.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If your not driving under the influence and causing trouble there shouldn't be an issue with police roadblocks and harassment. Lewiston doesn't tolerate it so come to Lockport and act like a horses hind end because the city is desperate to have people here.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The one thing that is for certain is there will always be a block of people that are not happy.

There will be those that call for new bands. Then there will be those that complain that they're not the familiar album rock bands.

I enjoy whoever it is. It is an opportunity to see a band, with no parking or entry fee. It can be a familiar one or maybe turn one on to something new. It is chance to hang out on a summer night with friends and family. It is a chance to walk around and enjoy the city.

Enjoy the summer. Seize it while its here.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The only people that worry about police are criminals. I happen to love the police and the unappreciated job they do.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Seriously can't wait until 7/20 when big Wreck melts some faces... Virtually forgoton/unknown, these guys are going to win some fans. Their new album was #1 in Canada for 6 weeks, was in the top 10 albums on iTunes in Canada AND America. When Ian Thornley rips out his solo in "A Million Days", Plays slide guitar on numerous tracks better than basically anyone out there today and sings better than Cornell you all will eat your words of calling all of these acts horrible. Just because you don't know these bands doesn't make them horrible. Gov't Mule is FANTASTIC, Tea Party pretty much ALWAYS delivers, Kenny Wayne is one of the best out there, Eddie Money is fun and still sounds great (albiet VERY drunk last time... Heard theory of a Deadman is coming as well in one of those open dates.

    ReplyDelete
  22. everyone posting negative comments needs to leave. We drive from Rochester almost every Friday for these concerts because Rochester gets absolutely no talent. Lockport has once again gotten some great acts. Come to Rochester if you want to see the same old bands that have been on the radio for 30 years. This is what we're stuck with this year .... Molly Hatchet, Bruce Hornsby, Grass Roots, George Thorogood. What, do they think Rochester is full of old people??? So glad Lockport tries to get a variety of acts to please everyone. Can't wait for the summer to start!

    ReplyDelete
  23. "That's just the way it is
    Some things'll never change...."

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't understand any of the negative comments. Gov't Mule is a great band and Warren Haynes is the man! Eddie Money has a lot of good songs and will put on a great show. George Thorogood rocked artpark last summer and is probably one of the biggest artists lockport has ever and will ever had. And in my opinion Kenny Wayne Shepherd is the steal of the whole summer. I can't believe hes playing for FREE in lockport!! So excited!! He is an absolutly amazing guitarist and unbelievable song writer. It is the concert of the summer and your crazy if you miss it. Also, the shows are FREE!! If you dont like the line-up dont go but stop being negative. Its free there is nothing to compaline about, if anything you should be complaining about artpark charging because there line-up is not very good this summer. Just go listen to some free music with some friends and enjoy your summer and stop all the complaining.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You mean I grew out my mullet and took my Reliant K out of storage for nothing? Geeze!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I heard from a reliable source downtown that on 7/13 ACE FREHLEY is playing Lockport.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would LOVE to see how these whiners acted at Woodstock, or any other concert gathering like it; they'd complain that the bands took too long to get on stage, or the sound wasn't right, or there weren't enought toilets or enough food...the beer isn't cold enough. Some people just live to bitch about things. Shut up, all of ya, and just enjoy a night out and the company of others. Or maybe the bitchers should just stay home and let US have a good time!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I doubt the people at the original Woodstock were complaining about the talent. The last Woodstock though, let's see, they did do a lot of complaining and rioting and raping. Janet, do you have a point?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Now the concert series is being compared to Woodstock? That's funny!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Now the concert series is being compared to Woodstock? That's funny!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Nickelback walks into a bar.........There's no punchline because you can't already ruin bad music.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If you like Soundgarden or Chris Cornells solo stuff then BIG WRECK is a show not to be missed. CANT WAIT!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think we can all agree that the series in lockport is awesome and complaining is not really the suited. However, It would be nice to have bands like "our lady peace" and "puddle of mud" (not that im in love with these bands.. at all.. well maybe olp a little) .. but bands that cater to an under 40 yr old age group. Your likely to either love or hate the series depending on the time you were born... My 2 cents... either way i love that Lockport is doing something great for the town and support it no matter what. Just a suggestion however.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Concerts sponsored by Labatt's . . . I think the concert promoters should sponsor a drunk bus (the trolley?) to make sure all those that can't drive home make it home safely. They do it Buffalo all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Seen Eddie money in 2005 at NT and Lockport in 09. Both times, same songs, same order, same lame one liners talking to the crowd "you like my haircut, my probation officer loves it". I think I'll sit that one out. The 97 rockers can have that one.

    ReplyDelete
  36. This Monday at 1pm or Next Monday? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  37. i don't understand why Lockport has to be so different compared to the other venues when it comes to announcing their series lineups. Everyone else just posts it online or in the paper weeks ago but Lockport has to have an official press conference and photo op for the king.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Tito Jackson just announced!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Waiting Paitently5/14/2012 2:06 PM

Artpark isn't announcing until tomorrow. Yes I don't understand the big deal either, if they already have the bands locked up.

    ReplyDelete
  40. At least they got Theory of a Deadman. Very Canadian lineup this year. Whoever your source is that said Ace Frehley was coming, isn't reliable at all and needs a boot to the booty

  45. "54-40 is the most talented band in this line up"
Be serious....Rik Emmett is a superior musician to anybody in 54-40. I like 54-40 but get your head on straight!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Free concert? Count me in. I'm thrilled Theory is coming. I hope people stop complaining about what country these bands are from, and actually listen to them. I know at least one show I'll definitely be going to. Thanks for posting the list.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I hope it pours down rain every Friday night :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Guess it doesn't take much to entertain Western New yorkers. First it's bad sports teams, now its a crummy concert series.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sometimes high school behavior never dies. At some age the social construct of belittling others to help oneself feel better has to be outgrown, no? Or is internet complaining a bonafide past time?

I can see not immediately liking all the bands, or being familiar with them all but this is not a personal music playlist.

Maybe one can travel to Rochester instead?
    http://www.rochesterevents.com/festivals-events/party-in-the-park
Though it does not appear to be 97 Rock friendly either.

Take a "free" chance at something new. You only live once.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If you are bitching about the damn lineup, DONT GO!!! More room for me to groove to the music.

    ReplyDelete
  51. You have to remember $5 beers are cheap for canadians!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have never seen so much complaining about something that is provided to residents and visitors for FREE. If ya dont like it, just dont go, it is as simple as that. If you want bigger named artists, you would have to be willing to PAY.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True that stop with the complaining

      Delete
  53. Artpark has a much better lineup. Way worth $5 or $10 for that talent. With the bands at Lockport this year, if you charged, no one would show up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. They better have one with the extra 50,000 to 75,000 dollars they'll bring in at the gate and the fact that they are a state funded park.

Half of the Artpark shows have played this area and Lockport for free already so what's the big deal?

Once again, why the childish picking "favs", my something is better than your something, etc. Is it so hard to enjoy the several concert series in the area every summer?

People need to get out and find some enjoyment in life.....

    ReplyDelete
  55. All these people hatin on this lineup have never seen Rik Emmmett in concert. Def excited about Eddie Money too!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Big Wreck FTW! Ian Thornley is amazing. If we get both Big Wreck and Thornley tunes that show will be one of the best. How do people not know this band?, theyve had big success not only in Canada but the US as well.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Where's queensryche

    ReplyDelete
  58. I am not into the crowd the bands here will bring in. For god's sake, I saw an old man with a cane and a 60 yr old woman fighting over Burton Cummings sweaty towel. This will be much worse

    ReplyDelete
  59. What's the big obsession with Canadian bands around here? If someone loves Canada that much then check your US citizenship at Rainbow Bridge and cross it for one last time.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Exactly ^^^ Is Canada funding this?

    ReplyDelete
  61. What's up with free music? I hate free music. People who like old music are lame. People who like new music are lame. People who point out lameness are cool. Everything sucks. Everything else is better. Old people at concerts suck. Young people at concerts suck and are scary, very scary, where's the police? Concerts in muddy grass sucks. Concerts on asphalt suck. I can't sit sucks. Why does beer at a free concert have to be more expensive than at 7-11? That sucks. Canadians visiting sucks. Nobody ever coming here means Lameport is lame, except when 15,000 show up for a concert that I deem lame, then that is lame. Not having to pay for entry or parking is lame because it must be because everything else is. Large crowds are lame and just prove there are a lot of lame people out there to eat up the lameness.

Going to this series would be a waste of my time but posting this is not. I must now go bitch and moan on another forums, which sucks, but I do as a service so others know that I know that they are lame and anything anywhere else is better, unless that place is the one being discussed, in which case it becomes lame.

Point out lameness at 10 other sites in the next 24 hrs and receive the good luck of having next year's lineup be your dream line up.

(***No guarantee that 100 other people would not call it lame)

    ReplyDelete
  62. That was a rant! As I do not care for this lineup personally, as compared to others in the past, I would not complain about it. It is still free. I think the problem is with a message board like this. Close this down so you don't have to read the negative comments. I believe the only reason Artpark is charging this year is because people bitched about shows there too. C'mon man, ZZ Top for free and you bitch? You can't win no matter what. Social media sucks, as do most people

    ReplyDelete
  63. I don't care whos playing. I will be there regardless every Friday night getting drunk off my butt :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Chronic Complainer5/15/2012 7:41 PM

I thought the purpose of this message board was for DIVERSE opinions be it positive or negative? I guess I'll complain if my beer at the concert isn't served at a perfect temperature of 35.4 degrees, Or maybee if the stage isn't at the correct angle. Better yet, I'll complain about the yellow lines in the UCC parking lot not being yellow enough.

    ReplyDelete
  65. If Government Mule plays Soulshine my summer will be complete.

    ReplyDelete
  66. On 7/6 I plan on being drunker than Eddie Money :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. The Tea Party is the best band in this lineup,Rik Emmett and Big Wreck are ok the rest of the lineup sucks!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I don't really care that "negative comments" are here. People are welcome to mention that the bands are not to their liking, they do not know them, etc. It's just the perpetual grade school level comments quickly become tiresome. I know it's a reach to hope for intelligent conversation (positive or negative)but I can still hope. Just like others hope for a lineup full of 70's album rock.

    ReplyDelete
  69. why don't you turn anom commenting off again and get rid of 90% of the crap?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Can't wait :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Any word on the openening acts this season? I thought Rev Theory put on a great show last year and also Klear was great. I would hope to see some equally good talent with the openers this year.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Heard Sheepdogs were opening for Govt Mule.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Some of the openers have been posted on the labatt canal concert website! They also have info about each band and how to purchase vip tickets on there!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Klear is opening for Theory of a Deadman

    ReplyDelete
  75. ^^^^^^^^^^^^AWESOME^^^^^^^^^^^^

    ReplyDelete
  76. They should just hold this concert season at the Factory Outlet Mall and keep all the Canadians contained to one area in Niagara County.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Complain, Complain, Complain...you people would complain if they hung you with a new rope. Get over it....if you don't like them don't go. Do I like the crowd...no but it's a fun thing for Lockport people...I would only say they need more diversity for all ages. The Senior crowd likes to attend also but the bands are a little to wild lately. BUT, keep up the good work....it's awesome that we have this.

    ReplyDelete
  78. So if it was a FREE pig poo flinging contest, you would go because its free?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Pig poo, really??? Well I personally would not go to see that, and nobody else would have to if they did not want to (just like the concerts). But if people did want to see that they could feel free to go and it would not affect me(just like the concerts). As long as a few local businesses saw an increase in business due to this event (just like the concerts). And as long as it was cleaned up immediately afterwards (just like the concerts) I do not see how it would matter. However, I do not think any of the bands playing this year sink to the level of pig poo and I will attend a couple.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I just wish it was a little more handicapped friendly.

    ReplyDelete
  81. If you want to see the concerts from a more "handicap friendly" environment. Move into 77 Main St.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Oh great, now the 77 Main St. crowd is complaining and wanting special treatment.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Crowd surfing wheelchairs!! I'd love to see it!

    ReplyDelete
  84. LMFAO^^^^^^^^^^

    ReplyDelete
  85. Wow, shit on someone because they dare to be handicapped.

This website should be called Lockport.trollspot.com.

    ReplyDelete
  86. seriously...I doubt that anyone will miss any of the people that are complaining about the concert series - stay home and let the others enjoy the music!!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. So I travel all around NY for music. This weekend going to MTN. JAM. My personal opinion is that they threw in this many canadian bands to get the crowds to come over and spend dollars. I will be at Mule and Kenny Wayne Sheppard. AS far as the other shows go if Rochester/Buffalo/Artpark has anything better I will be there instead... It will be good for lockport to get the dollars though

    ReplyDelete
  88. For those of you that MAY be wondering ...

I spoke with Mayor Tucker today.. and asked about the fee for VIP ...

From what he said "$20/WEEK as far as 'all access passes' .. There wont be many floating around ... Advertisement posters for the concerts .. hoping for in the next couple weeks"

just some info if you guys wanted to know.

    ReplyDelete
  89. So in other words, he who blows the best, gets a VIP pass. On another note, rumor has it that Dr. James Corasanti and his band Hit and Run are going to be one of the openers this year.

    ReplyDelete
  90. So, if you run into somebody's lawn and take out trees, mailboxes, etc. then drive home, you get charged with leaving the scene of a crime. But if you kill somebody "unknowingly", what a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  91. The July 13th show with Rik Emmett has been canceled and replaced by Ed Kowalczyk of Live

    ReplyDelete
  92. Anybody locking their keys in their cars on the nights of the concerts, don't call a tow truck and pay $80 bucks. Call the LPD, they will do it for free like I witnessed today at aprox. 5:15 pm in the parking lot behind the library. No emergency, no kid locked in the car, just a courtesy jesture from Lockports finest :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Ed Kowalczyk sucks too. On the positive side, at least he's not from Canada.

    ReplyDelete
  94. what are the advantages of the vip section?. I was going to bring my les paul pick guard and have warren haynes autograph. is this a possibility in VIP? I heard the bands walk right by you... thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  95. The advantage of the VIP section is that you get to hang with King Tuck in the fine kingdom of LockVegas at the shows.

    ReplyDelete
  96. There's 40 VIP passes for each show there $22 a piece. They only include private entrance, private bathroom and 1 drink not worth it in my opinion!

    ReplyDelete
  97. The advantage is you don't have to listen to all of the irritating trolls complaining about god-damned everything.Which makes me wonder, can I spend 22$ here for the same privlidges?

    ReplyDelete
  98. And your provided with a force field to put over your car so the vagrants don't key it.

    ReplyDelete
  99. For $22 dollars you should get a free hotel room, limo ride to and from the concert, dinner st Salvatores Italian Gardens, get autograpghed gibson guitars from the band, AND be able to complain about whatever you want.

    ReplyDelete
  100. $22 is less than a ticket to any of these performers at a "non-free" venue.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Are the concerts the only news in Lockport? There is nothing new on this site at all!

    ReplyDelete
  102. The concerts are the biggest thing to happen to Lockport since the canal was dug.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Anybody that wants to know what Govt. Mule sounds like just go to Picasso Moon on Main St. They have them crnked up on the stereo there and while your at it, take a gander at the stoners that hang out there and that will give you an idea of the crowd that will be there on 6/29. Ask me how I know it's because I was in the antique store next door (they are connected).

    ReplyDelete
  104. Live's lead singer should be kick @#$...although Losing Rick Emmett..sucks...they should lose Kenny Wayne...instead....or Big Wreck....

    ReplyDelete
  105. $22.00 dollars for a vip ticket for Eddie Money????...What the %#$@...for $5.00 or $10.00 dollars you can see Huey Lewis and the news at Artpark on grass.....not in a parking lot....

    ReplyDelete
  106. where does the vip money go????...into someones pocket or into a coffer for getting better acts next year????

    ReplyDelete
  107. If you want to get backstage to see Eddie Money, bring a bottle of whiskey to give to him.

    ReplyDelete
  108. We went to the Kansas show at Artpark last night. It was well worth paying the small fee they charged. Charging a fee truely keeps the dregs out of there. Space to move around comfortably. No problems whatsoever. Good luck Lockport with your 3 ring circus this Summer.

    ReplyDelete
  109. well you are one dreg that will not be there, that's a plus

how much would it cost to keep you from leaving your living room? 4$? 5$?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Who would have thought something paid for has benefits over something free?

    ReplyDelete
  111. The Tea Party show on 8/24 has been cancelled. Lets hope the promoter can find a decent replacement in such short time.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Will I get a refund for the VIP passes for tea party if they canceled?

    ReplyDelete
  113. I would think so. Check with whoever you bought the VIP pass from.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Mike where did you here that the tea party show was cancelled it hasn't been posted on any site! This would really suck this is the best show in this lineup!:(

    ReplyDelete
  115. Anybody confirm if The Tea Party is cancelled? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Good show last night 6/29 :) They even angled the stage a tad bit more so I could watch it from my bedroom window better. Thanks guys :)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Not Liking the Extended VIP area which fences off the first 100 feet in front of the stage!! Nice way to make you pay for a free event. plus the FEE is $21!! UGH. This Blows and is making it harder to justify the drive from Rochester...

    ReplyDelete
  118. I noticed those two "corrals" fenced off in front of the stage. That's for 1st., and 2nd. class citizens. The 3rd class citizens are behind the sound booth now.Just a few years ago you could get there early to get a front row spot of even sit behind the stage area. Now everything is roped or fenced off and everyone is funneled into the parking lot area.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Who get's to keep the money from the vip seating?

    ReplyDelete
  120. The money raised from the VIP ticket sales goes to the Obama re election campain.

    ReplyDelete
  121. If that was ever true, hopefully that area is empty for the rest of the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I heard the VIP ticket money was going to be used to afford better bands next year.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Seriously, since the vip section now has basically taken over all the good viewing spots, who does get the money? Does it go to the promoter or the city?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Heywood Jablome7/03/2012 10:37 AM

Wow, after reading that they roped off so much room for over-priced VIP seating, I will not be attending any this year at Lockport. Thanks for ruining a good thing

    ReplyDelete
  125. I agree. Artpark will get my money from now on :)

    ReplyDelete
  126. The first 100 feet in front of the stage reserved for 40 VIP ticket holders? WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  127. They need that much space reserved to hold King Tuck.

    ReplyDelete
  128. the tea party did not cancel! Have that news right from the promoter

    ReplyDelete
  129. Really people? The shows are still free. Stay home no one cares! There sure seemed to be a awful lot of people in the vip that did,nt seem to have a issue with spending the 22 bucks for a good time.REALLY STAY HOME!

    ReplyDelete
  130. So half the venue space is reserved for VIP. Who are the VIP's besides the 40 that pay the 22 bucks for tickets? Best way to protest is don't spend any money there, hit them in their bottom line.

    ReplyDelete
  131. You could stand on Mckinley during shows at the Hamburg fair and consider that free too, but it's not the same. And it's ****"an awful lot" not a awful lot

    ReplyDelete
  132. Propper English7/03/2012 10:31 PM

You are so correct. The word "an" used in a sentance will preceed a word beginning in a vowel :)

    ReplyDelete
  133. Serve and Correct7/04/2012 9:19 AM

    *Proper, *Sentence, *Precede

    ReplyDelete
  134. Huked on foniks werkd 4 me.

    ReplyDelete
  135. The Tea Party show is cancelled. There was a dispute between the band and the promoter on how much the band was to be paid.

    ReplyDelete
  136. GREAT NEWS: For tonights Eddie Money show. The VIP section has been shortened by about 15 feet. If your a 3rd class citizen, you better get there no later than 4pm so you can get a halfway decent viewing spot!

    ReplyDelete
  137. Will Money's projectile vomiting be able to reach the 3rd class spots?

    ReplyDelete
  138. just took a walk by there @ 7:30, not too many people there so far. I wouldn't blame it on the heat either. Who the hell wants to come to Lockport to see a show when the closest you can get is 60 feet in front of the stage?

    ReplyDelete
  139. Anybody see the crowd of 30-40 black people fighting each other in the middle of Main St after the concert? Great crowd these concerts are attracting.

    ReplyDelete
  140. They thought Eddie $$$$$ was a hip hop artist

    ReplyDelete
  141. 6 people stomping 1 guy in the middle of Main St. Just waiting to hear another person gets killed related to the concert like the guy who fell off the cliff behind 77 Main after the REO concert.

    ReplyDelete
  142. free concert7/07/2012 6:32 PM

HEY ! ANONYMOUS IF YOU CAN'T STAND LOCKPORT WHY DON'T YOU MOVE!!!! Is free concert !! enjoy it !or don't go!

    ReplyDelete
  143. Oh trust me, I put in for a job transfer and a as soon as an opening comes up on the West Coast I'm out of your little piss ass town :)

    ReplyDelete
  144. By "job transfer" you mean you are waiting for your fradulant welfare paperwork to clear? Can we take a collection to get you to move tomorrow? All we need is a lame horse and some rope to tie you up with. Anything to help better the city.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Not everyone in Lockport is on welfare.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Enjoyed the free show at the Hard Rock Cafe last night. Nice crowd, great atmosphere. The "fake" Guess Who sounded awesome. I decided to go see Talas there instead of the only show I was going to see in Lockport (Theory of a Deadman)

    ReplyDelete
  147. -Great comment about Eddie $$$$ - good one---

-Not everyone is on welfare, but if I remember right 49% of the people are at poverty level in Lockport......

    ReplyDelete
  148. I'm part of thge 49% but I'm also a disabled vet NOT on welfare!

    ReplyDelete
  149. U people r not nice the the subject at had is 21dollar tickets. And yea for these bands its just not worth it and u pay 4 dollars a ticket for drinks its getting carried away if i had the momey id go to aregular concert.Buttheses bands u can see in any bar and pay have the price of drinks . I will still go theres not much to do in lockport espacially w a family of 6 but it definatly makes it hard to
look forward to. Lockport does have its good quality they do a lot of great free holiday events. And its only down the strret from farmland buts its definatly not right to inslut people as a whole.

    ReplyDelete
  150. cuz we r edukated real good hear.

    ReplyDelete
  151. "Enjoyed the free show at the Hard Rock Cafe last night. Nice crowd, great atmosphere". Wait untill the savages start hanging around the shows like they started to here in Lockport.

    ReplyDelete
  152. WTF. We drive all the way from Toronto to see Rik Emmett only find out when we get there that some Ed guy is perfoming. So what happens next week for Big Wreck, is Banannaramma going to replace them without notice?

    ReplyDelete
  153. WTF? Read the web site! Rik Emmett show cancelled a while back and replaced with that Ed guy. The internet is really a great source for that kind of information.Big Wreck is still on and the Tea Party did not cancel. Got that info right from the promoter.

    ReplyDelete
  154. It would have been nice then that whoever does the advertising had pulled all the TV ads which showed Emmett was playing..... The ads were still calling for him on Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Ed Kowalczyk put on a great show last night he played all his hits from Live and sounded great! Way better than Rik Emmett which i saw here a few years ago!

    ReplyDelete
  156. TV ads said Rik was playing on Friday afternoon. Website saids it's cancelled. Rumors Tea Party cancelled? Promoter says this, someone else says that. Who knows what to believe. You Americans can't get anything right.

    ReplyDelete
  157. WOW!!! Ever see the movie Canadian Bacon?

    ReplyDelete
  158. Great show Friday by that guy Ed. Love that nickname. And props to Sub Delicious, saw their sign on the door not admitting anyone who is "sagging" their pants because noone wants to see their underwear. Lol, too funny.

    ReplyDelete
  159. No Saggy Pants7/16/2012 4:59 AM

Sub D is going to get more of my business now because they have the @@ to take a stand against that garbage :)

    ReplyDelete
  160. Next year they can bring that guy Ed back and maybe that gal Val can open for him.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Buckcherry for FREE in North Tonawanda was AWESOME!!!!! Way better than all your acts this year combined! GET BETTER ACTS!

    ReplyDelete
  162. I heard the same promoter put on the buckcherry show also.

    ReplyDelete
  163. YES at Artpark was a great show. Great atmosphere and no saggy pants :)

    ReplyDelete
  164. The same promoter did the fuel and buckcherry show. All the same people worked the gratwick venue that work the canal shows

    ReplyDelete
  165. There was a better atmoshphere at Gratwick with the lack of saggy pants around there :)

    ReplyDelete
  166. Only about 1,000 people at the Train Wreck show last night but if you ask King Tuck, he'll tell you it was about 450,000.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Last night was the first time I was able to hear the music from my backyard this year. I have been able to hear the music from concerts every Friday night since they have started (I am not complaining, I enjoy sitting in my backyard when I can't go downtown). This year I haven't heard any music until last night. Has anyone else noticed the difference in volume levels or directions speakers are facing at the shows? I regards to attendance, it seems like in years past the Lkpt US&J used to put attendance figures in the review articles but don't do so anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  168. There was no difference in the sound system setup or the volume.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Promoters better rake it in the last half of the concert season. They gotta be taking it on the chin with concession sales with these light crowds.

    ReplyDelete
  170. That's what they get for hiring D list acts!

    ReplyDelete
  171. Consession sales will pick up at the beginning of the month once welfare checks are delivered.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Any word on if Lockport sets up DWI checkpoints on concert nights? I pass thru one every year coming home from Olcott for fireworks and Polar Bear. Seems like an easy cash grab for them.

    ReplyDelete
  173. All the cops are downtown on Friday nights. It would be a better one if the NYSP did them North, South, East, and West of the city :)

    ReplyDelete
  174. It doesn't matter, the promoter is back in with NT and thats why we have such lousy bands this year. This is just a year of bands that are attracting bad crowds and trouble makers.
    last year OF THEM!

    ReplyDelete
  175. NT was a WAY better venue for these shows anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Is that your plan Ed?

    ReplyDelete
  177. Lost Wallet 247-1998

    ReplyDelete
  178. No Mr. Ulrich, that is not my plan.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Questtion: How many Lockport cops does it take to arrest a drunk guy who is so hammered that a slight breeze cam knock him down? Answer: 8.
Good police work men, I bet ya'll were high fiveing it around the booking room after that big bust.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Delusions of grandeur Ed? So what is your plan when your welfare check comes? Do you just buy the cheap beer at the drug store instead?

    ReplyDelete
  181. They should have just politely asked the drunken slob to put the handcufs on himself.I mean, it's not like you've ever heard of a drunk being combative or making bad decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Great series ths tear! Wish I could make it to more shows. Ed K. was a great replacement singer. It is good to see something drawing this many people to Lockport. If you don't like the bands, don't attend. A simple way to show your support or dislike of the bands.

    ReplyDelete
  183. George Thorogood Rocked! Only concert I made it to in Lockport this season due to various reasons. Lonesome George was just one I couldn't miss! Sawe him in Artpark last year, had to see him again!

    ReplyDelete
  184. Kenny Wayne is great

    ReplyDelete
  185. kenny wayne is going to tear it up tomorrow night

    ReplyDelete
  186. Do they sell concert t shirts at the venue? For the artists that is, I really don't want a Rock the Locks t shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Is there handicap area for wheelchair users?

    ReplyDelete
  188. There is no handicap area for wheelchair users unfortunately. However, the crowds are nice enough to let most of them up as close as they can. Why is the closest parking lot to the concert charging 7 bucks per car?

    ReplyDelete
  189. Tea Party was great last night but I wish I knew that I could have purchased a VIP pass, I thought they were limited or sold out, or only available to some, I think if its your favorite band $22 would be very much worth it for the better access to the stage area.

    ReplyDelete
  190. I was in the VIP area for the Tea Party show it was $27 the day of the show $22 if you purchase before hand. Not worth it all you get is 1 free drink and there's still about a 10 minute wait to use the bathroom.

    ReplyDelete
  191. I Love the expanded VIP area. It cuts down on people showing up 5 minutes before the main act and trying to push their way to the front :)

    ReplyDelete
  192. If they don't provide me with a wheelchair accessable area near the stage next season I'm gonna sue till the cows come home!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  193. Exactly where in the ada rules does it say they owe you a spot near the stage?
I am disabled too so I understand. As long as there is wheelchair access and handicap parking (???) then you are fine.

    ReplyDelete
  194. It clearly states in 49 CFR, page 872, section 236, subsection 27, paragraph 5, line 1 that the space directly in front of the stage shall be reserved for people with disabilities.

    ReplyDelete
  195. dang it, I missed that paragraph. me bad!

    ReplyDelete
  196. I, for one, hope the concerts get moved to Outwater Park or somewhere where one can actually sit comfortably besides a picnic table or the asphalt. It would be cool if people could bring chairs to sit on...we're all not spring chickens anymore, ya know...anyone know more about the possibility of the concerts moving to the park?

    ReplyDelete
  197. I rent space in Ulrich City Center and I spoke to Kathy the promoter this summer. She indicated to me that they want to work with the Mayor to find a better location. She did mention Outwater Park as an option and said the reason is because it just to difficult to set it up in a parking lot filled with cars for half the day. I for one won't miss it.
